Barbasol, Bic, Skin Bracer and TP
Still in the bath zone today. I am remembering Dad's shaving regimen. As a young boy and then a young man, I thought there had to be a better way to do this than what my father is modelling. I am sharing this memory in love, because I do think fondly of him for it, but it looked painful. So, Dad would use bic disposable razors and I am assuming too many times for each razor. Barbasol was the shaving cream of choice. The combination would not be able to boast close shave excellence. My observation was a few cuts and blood anytime I watched. Then came the skin bracer. That had to hurt. The final application was that of little torn toilet paper pieces. I promise I am not exaggerating these points. Maybe he had a lot of cut free shaves in between, but the blood dotted TP really stands out. It is something I often think about when I shave.
